How Arks of Omen could affect Daemons!

So yesterday GW revealed the first glimpses of the Arks of Omen: grand tournament mission pack. With this comes a brand new detachment that is sure to shake competitive 40k to it's core!

New Detachment

So the new detachment is completely free CP wise, and gives you alot of options with list building. You start with a mandatory HQ, and your choice of either 3 Troops, 3 Elites, 3 fast attacks, 3 heavy support or 3 lords of war. You then have a lot of optional choices with 0-9 Troops, 0-3 Elites, 0-3 fast attack, 0-3 heavy support, 0-3 lords of war, 0-3 HQ, 0-3 fortifications, 0-3 elite slot HQs, 0-2 flyers and 1 dedicated for every infantry unit in your list.
This is great for those armies that don't like paying the troop tax (like CSM, Space marines etc..) and still allows you to focus into the strengths of your factions while not having to sacrifice CP.

You can also take an allied detachment for free, though we don't know much about that. I'd assume there will be a cap on how much of your force can be allies. There is also going to be restrictions on who can ally with who, the biggest of these we know so far is Imperial factions can take a Votann contingent....

GW also stated that certain armies like Drukhari and Dark Angels who have specialist ways of building their forces will get special rules. Fingers crossed Daemons get some of this treatment!

How this affects Daemons

This is very good for Daemons, since you can take up to 4 HQs, and a Herald does not take up a HQ slot if you have a Greater Daemon of the same god in your list. Daemons have alot of strength in the Elites and with Exalted Flamers being elite HQs, you can still take 6 Elites and have space for an Exalted.
If you want to focus down on your chariots, you can instead go for an extra 3 fast attack or heavy support depending on what flavour of murder wagons you want to go with.
You can still take 0-9 Troop units aswell, allowing you to still get plenty of Obsec, and get those nettes and letters in. Also, you can take 9 Nurgling units now without worrying about the compulsory troop slots, just saying.....

The other super interesting thing with the new detachment is Disciples of Be'lakor, since it says everything in the detachment has to have a matching keyword (excluding Chaos, Aeldari, Imperium or Tyranids), of which Disciples is. Again they will need to make a rule to confirm they can go into the same detachment since under restrictions for Disciples, you can't include CSM and Daemons in the same detachment.
Remember that you can now take Nurglings without worrying about compulsory troop slots, well that is made even better in Disciples since they become obsec!
You can also presumably add your house korvax knights in the same detachment.

The thing we don't know, is how the Warpstorm will now work. Since to get the god specific tables, you must have a mono god detachment. Well now it looks like we will be locked into one detachment, do we only get the mono god tables if we have a pure mono god army?
Hopefully we don't get shafted on our already limited army ability.

Secondaries

Like with Nephilim, Arks will be shaking up the secondary game. By how much we don't know but we can speculate!
I'm going to just assume Rebels will be toned down or removed entirely unfortunately. Hopefully Despoilers has a way to make it go off immediately (even if the amount of objectives is reduced to one per phase you can action on). I really hope they offer some fluffy god specific ones that can only be achieved by units of that specific god!

So overall I am looking foward to the new mission pack, though I do think it will make the game absolutely crazy for the last few months of 9th!
We know we are getting a new dataslate and point changes aswell, and we all know Flamers are getting changed. The latest rumours/leaks say they will be reduced to d3+3 shots instead of their current d6+3. If they stay at 25pts and go to d3+3, I'll be incredibly happy and will still be taking them!

All we can do is wait and see what else comes out but let's hope Arks is not that far out.
