Daemonic meta! Competitive list reviews

Today I'm going to pick a few Daemon lists that done quite well last weekend (19th/20th November) and talk about them.
We'll be looking at lists that managed to win or podium events.

I have not picked every list, but the ones I liked the most, there were a few more that I could have picked but alot of them are pretty similar so instead I picked two generally typical lists and two very different lists!

Finn Decker-Kraken GT 2022

Undivided Battalion
HQ-
Bloodthirster-Warlord:Brazen Hide, Blooddrinker Talisman, great axe, Indomitable Onslaught
Changecaster-Infernal Flames, Gaze of Fate
Fluxmaster-Bolt of Change, Infernal Flames, Staff of Change
Troops-
1x10 Blue Horrors
3x10 Daemonettes
1x3 Nurglings
Elites-
3x5 Flamers

Khorne Patrol
HQ-
Skarbrand
Troops-
2x10 Bloodletters

This list went 5-1 finishing 2nd at a decently sized GT.
You have the standard 15 Flamers with two heralds for re-roll wounds of 1 and both of them having Infernal flames giving Finn some good Flexibility with where he wants that +1 to wound. 30 Daemonettes are great fast infantry able to reach those midfield objectives and smack up other infantry units that get close. 10 Blues hold the backfield and 3 Nurglings allow Finn to either block out other foward deploy units or pre game movers like Necrons.
20 Bloodletters will drop to hit the opponents objectives, while you have the thirster rocking a 5+ feel no pain, healing wounds on 5+ for each model it kills in combat and of course a 8 wound phase cap making just a real pain to shift.
The cherry on top of the list is Skarbrand, able to just carve through areas of the board, this list is super aggressive with some real good damage output.

Aquiles Anartz-Bolter Del Oro

Undivided Battalion:
HQ-
Be'lakor-Pall of Despair, Shrouded Step
Bloodthirster-Great Axe, A'rgath King of Blades, Indomitable Onslaught
Lord of Change-Warlord:Incorporeal Form, Impossible Robe, Infernal Flames, Infernal Gateway, Boon of Change, Master Mutator
Troops-
3x10 Daemonettes
1x3 Nurglings
Elites-
3x5 Flamers
1x3 Fiends

An undefeated list here going 4 wins and 1 draw, with the common Belly, BT and chicken combo.
The thirster of course with the wound cap and A'rgath on the big axe letting him just smash most units with those damage 3 sweeps. The chicken has Infernal Flames to buff the Flamers and Infernal Gateway, but has chosen boon over Bolt which I find strange. I'm guessing Aquiles really wanted a potential of T8 Belly. The Chicken is also rocking Master Mutator to do an extra mortal on a 2+ against units that took mortals from him in the psychic phase, which combines very wellnwith gateway. The -1 to wound and ignore one failed save per phase make the chicken a tough old bird giving him 3 hard to shift monsters capable of doing some real damage.
30 Daemonettes once again make their way into the list because they are just solid, 3 Nurglings again are a common take which is interesting.
This list also has 3 Fiends which I really like, they can put out some good damage with their claws and tail and are super fast, not to mention their ability to make any enemy unit in engagement range -1 to hit.
And of course 15 Flamers.

Kevin Leonard-Renegade Open

HQ:

Nurgle Patrol
HQ-
Great Unclean One-Warlord:Acidic Ichor, Bilesword, Plague Flail, The Endless Gift, Nurgles Rot, Shrivelling Pox, Revoltingly Resilient
Mamon Transfigured
Troops-
1x10 Plaguebearers
1x3 Nurglings

Nurgle Spearhead
HQ-
Rotigus-Fleshy Abundance, Stream of Corruption
Great Unclean One-Bilesword, Plague Flail, Effluvior, Malodorous Pall, Shrivelling Pox, Hideous Visage
Troops-
2x3 Nurglings
Heavy Support-
3x1 Soulgrinders-Warpsword, Mark of Nurgle

Whats that, mono Nurgle and no Flamers!! I was so happy when I saw this list. Just note, Kevin is a super good Daemon player sitting a few spots above myself in the Daemon ITC rankings towards the top!
This list is a stat check for Kevin's opponents, throwing 3 big T9 22-24 wound monsters and 3 T9 16 wound vehicles foward, with 3 units of Nurglings able to grab any midfield objectives early and 10 plaguebearers hold the back field.
The real strength here for me is the 3 Grinders, with Mamon who I assume was sitting firmly behind all 3 since his re-roll 1's affects every Nurgle Daemon, not just core. That makes these guys super reliable with their damage output. He may keep one of these back but I can definitely see just throwing all 3 foward plus 2 of the big boys and just forcing your opponent to deal with them, while the 3rd GUO comes in off reserves.
The warlord fat boy heals a number of wounds equal to the battle round, is -1 damage in combat and and causes mortal wounds on a 4+ in melee whenever it takes any wounds.
The other one is -2 to leadership and combat attrition in 6", can become -3 leadership and pushing the aura to 9" making him a great tool for bringing in those reserves along with Rotigus' Warp locus.
Overall I'm glad to see a Nurgle list smash a big event at  4 wins and a draw. Definitely tempts me to try something similar.

John Ross-Cook Nemesis Fall 2022

Undivided Supreme Command-
Be'lakor-Betraying Shades, Pall of Despair

Undivided Patrol-
HQ-
Rotigus-Fleshy Abundance, Nurgles Rot
Skarbrand
Troops-
1x10 Bloodletters

Undivided Patrol-
HQ-
Kairos Fateweaver
Shalaxi Helbane-Shining Aegis, Phantasmagoria, Symphonies of Pain
Troops-
1x10 Daemonettes
1x3 Nurglings

Another list with no Flamers, this time winning an event!
Seeing Belly with all 4 named greater daemons is amazing, as a Daemon fanatic this got me all giddy.
Skarbrand and Belly put out serious melee damage, while Shalaxi is super fast and can do some good work in combat too!
Rotigus is just a T9 lump, though I'm not sure why John had Fleshy Abundance on him, as it can only be cast on Nurgle core which he had none of. Hopefully he wasn't making Belly T8 with it...
Kairos can just put out silly mortal damage with the chances of him getting a super Smite and 3 mortals on Gateway becomes more likely the higher the round number, not to mention he is pretty tough with that 3+ save vs ranged.
Daemonettes, Bloodletters and Nurglings hold objectives while the big boys distract and do damage. The letters are a decent tool to come in, smash a target and then steal an objective.
This is just a cool list that can flatten anything not ready for it, and forces you to deal with the big stuff while the smaller stuff can hold onto objectives.

It's cool to see a few players going outside the box with their lists and is definitely tempting me to do something similar to help shake it up and freshen my gameplay for upcoming events.
